Training

By now, our software achitects have constructed a truly individualized SMART system for your facility.

With this new version of SMART downloaded on to your system, we are now ready to begin the training.

Any final installation will also take place during this period.  The time specified will have a direct relationship with the number of workstations and printer.  We have dedicated three person days to this, the bulk of the project.

SMART will work with your network administrator to add all the users and configuration for security purposes as well as administration work.

Your administrative staff will be asked to audit the data and make necessary changes focusing on the patient master, admission and discharge, counselor assignment, and treatment unit codes. Accurate balances, as well as weekly fees must also be added to SMART.

The medical staff will audit the dosing and take-home status to insure accurate status. At the same time they will be trained on the procedures for medical orders; dose changes, take-home status, ‘Absent with Leave’ [AWL], urinalysis schedule as well as any prescriptions the patient may be on with the appropriate expiration dates. The methadone [Liquid and tablets as well L.A.A.M.] inventory must be added to the computer.

The time it will take to accomplish this will be directly related to both the accuracy of your program’s records, as well and the level of cooperation we receive from your staff. In short, the more you have readily available – both information and attention - the easier it will be for us all to complete the task.

To maximize the SMART~Trainers’ time, it is critical that we select the most appropriate staff members to work with our SMART~Trainers. This will help minimize ‘over-runs.’

This we feel, is a smart plan…
