David L. Piccoli, II, President and CEO
David L. Piccoli, II, President and CEO, established Smart Management, Inc. as the vehicle to design operations software for his substance abuse treatment clinics located in five states. The result was software that set the tone for excellence in clinic management software, and the SMART software system is now used in clinics throughout the world.
Mr. Piccoli graduated from Roger Williams College and is a licensed helicopter pilot. In 2005, he established the Ishi Dojo Youth Center, a 501(c)3 not-for-profit in Providence’s South Side to provide physical and nutritional programs to increase well-being and self-esteem for children at risk.
He is a resident of Jamestown, RI, where he resides with his wife Gilda and their three children.

Peter F. "Pete" Morris, Chief Operating Officer
Pete has been with SMART almost from the very beginning, having joined us in 1993. Pete holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting from Bryant College. Previously Vice President of Finance at SMART, Pete helped establish our fiscal and financial goals and ensured that we kept a steady course. He not only has the professional skills of finance and management, but he also thoroughly understands and embraces our corporate culture of customers first in everything we do. When he is not deep into his work, he enjoys golf, traveling, scrambling the countryside on his ATV, and is a big fan of the New England Patriots and the Boston Red Sox. Pete resides in Johnston, RI, along with his wife Heather. |

Paul LeBeau, Vice President Software Division
Paul helped establish SMART, and since that time he has led the team that created the industry’s pioneering clinical operations package, Smart2K. Prior to joining SMART in 1992, Paul worked with MIT to develop the first multi-user operating system for an IBM Series 1 minicomputer and created systems for various companies including an accounting and manufacturing software system for the world’s largest costume jewelry manufacturer, and pioneered the use of computers to support live coverage of local and national elections by a local network television station.
Paul earned an MBA with high honors at Bryant College and is a member of the Delta-Mu-Delta Honor Society. He is a resident of Cranston, RI, where he resides with his wife Sandy and their Shetland Sheepdog, Sadie. His hobbies of bowling, motorcycling, home improvement, woodworking and an occasional round of golf provide relief from the intensity of software development.

Michael Carruthers, Asst. Director Software Division
Michael Carruthers, Assistant Director of the Software Division, learned clinic operations in the field as the Director of a Discovery House facility and then as a Discovery House Operations Manager. Using his first-hand knowledge of clinic operations, he moved into the position of Software Marketing Director, and in 2004 was appointed Assistant Director of the Software Division.
Michael is originally from Colorado and now makes his home in Providence, RI. Michael is single and enjoys the great amount of travel required by his position. When he is not on the road, he finds time for the game of basketball.

| Rick Froncillo, Global Customer Advocate
Rick has the positive attitude and leadership skills associated with individuals who see the big picture and who are able to set aside personal emotions when making day-to-day decisions. Prior to becoming leader of the Journey to Excellence project, he served as Project Director for Discovery House clinics in three states. He has tremendous communications skills and the ability to help others think calmly and clearly in the decision-making process. Rick resides in Cranston, RI, with his wife Marian. They are parents to two grown children. He loves to ride on his motorcycle, do home improvement projects, and is the official cappuccino barrista at SMART.

Emily Corbett, Systems Analyst
Emily is a prime example of a dedicated professional whose commitment to quality in all aspects of her job led her from a Discovery House clinic to Systems Analyst in the Software Division of SMART. She holds two degrees—a BA in Psychology from the University of Rhode Island and a MA in Counseling from Rhode Island College. Emily is a history buff whose hobbies are genealogy research and historical cemetery photography. She is married and lives in Warwick, RI. |
| Edmund "Ed" Silva, Quality Assurance Coordinator
Ed came to SMART with 25 years of experience in Quality Assurance. As Quality Assurance Coordinator, Ed develops and maintains the QA processes for the Software Division, including the development of test suites and procedures. He works with the Development team to design and implement work flow processes that identify opportunities for improvement in the design and flow process of software development. He also assists SMART software customers with the day-to-day functions of Smart2k. Ed is a member of the Rhode Island section of the American Society of Quality and serves on the steering committee He resides in
Fall River, MA, with his wife Sue, where Ed makes furniture, paints landscapes in oil, is an amateur astronomer and an avid Celtics fan.

| Marilia Fernandes, Support Department Supervisor
As Support Department Supervisor, Marilia’s responsibilities are many and varied. Her number one priority is to provide technical assistance to both internal and external customers. In addition, she helps to improve support procedures, maintain support logs, helps with installation and training, works on testing of SMART software, and helps to deploy updates and patches to customer sites. Prior to joining SMART, Marilia was a program manager for the Discovery House substance abuse treatment center in Providence. Her education includes a BS from the University of Rhode Island; LCDP (Licensed Dependency Professional) and SAP (Substance Abuse Professional). Marilia resides in Pawtucket, RI, and she is a member of the Emergency Response Team of RI. She has also won the Discovery House Threshold Award for outstanding performance above and beyond what was expected of her.

| Brenda Anne Borden, Customer Support Representative
Brenda assists with telephone support, testing, updates and installation of software. She has experience in Quality Assurance, computer hardware, billing and inventory. A resident of North Providence, RI, Brenda enjoys spending time with her daughter and shopping for shoes and handbags.

| Neng Jian, Programming Supervisor
Neng joined SMART IN 2001 as a Senior Software Engineer who held similar positions with software companies in Rhode Island and Connecticut. He was very instrumental in developing SMART’s pure Java application. Neng holds a B.S. in Computer Science from the University of Rhode Island. He was a champion chess player in high school and ranked the No. 5 individual in the nation in his category. Neng is a resident of Cranston, RI, where he resides with his wife and two daughters. His hobbies today are outdoor sports and brain teaser games.

| Michael Lough - Programmer
Prior to joining SMART, Michael was a Programmer with the giant lottery company, Gtech Corp. His experience, combined with his B.A. in Computer Science from Rhode Island College, enables Michael to do a great job as Java Programmer at SMART. Michael is single and resides in North Providence, RI . His hobbies include mountain biking, fishing, and amateur astronomy.

| Rimjhim Kapoor, Programmer
Rimjhim came to SMART as an experienced Java Programmer with a Bachelor's Degree in Electronics and Communication. Her duties include developing new features for SMART and assisting with field service. In her native India, Rimjhim won several awards for her scholastic and athletic talents, such as achieving national ranking as a basketball player. Rimjhim is married and lives in Providence, RI. When she is not working to improve and develop new software for SMART, she enjoys traveling, music, cooking, swimming and reading on the subjects of nature, geography, and world history. Rimjhim is certainly a multi-talented SMART team member.

| Neal Fournier, Maintenance Programmer
Neal brought the hands-on experience he gained in the United States Air Force as a Computer Programmer to the SMART team. Now he is responsible for fine-tuning SMART--making all the changes and corrections to existing software as needed. Neal is currently working on a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer & Information Science. He is a resident of
East Providence, RI, and enjoys video gaming, karaoke, reading, writing and playing with his son.

| Shelly Faria, Support Representative

No one is more entwined in the corporate structure than Shelly, who serves as Executive Assistant to Michael Carruthers, Assistant Director of the Software Division. Shelly is his representative in the day-to-day administrative functions of the company, and everyone who works at or visits SMART gets to meet her. Shelly holds a degree in Computer Science and Administration from Bristol Community College. She resides in Swansea, MA, with her husband and their young daughter. Shelly enjoys riding motorcycles with her husband Rick, driving her Corvette, and doing craft activities with her daughter.

| Denise Howard, Executive director of Operations and Compliance
Denise is responsible for compliance with policy, CARF and regulatory agencies. She is also a CARF Surveyor. She has experience in adolescent and adult in-patient treatment, and is an ATTC Technology Transfer Specialist. Denise holds a Bachelor’s degree and is a Licensed Chemical Dependency Professional. A resident of Cranston, RI, she is married with two children.

Heather has oversight of the Finance Department for all Discovery House clinics. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Rhode Island College. Married, Heather resides in Oneco, CT, where she enjoys gardening and attending the movies.

| Stephanie Cole, Provider Relations Supervisor
Stephanie supervises the billing staff for Discovery House clinics, and assists in training for new and potential SMART software customers. She also provides demonstrations on billing for potential customers and monitors changes in regulations in the insurance industry. Stephanie resides in Glocester, RI, with her two children and a Border Collie mix named Kyla who was rescued off the streets in Puerto Rico and brought to the US for adoption.

| Michael G. Cabral, Facilities Manager
Michael manages all Smart Buildings including the home office, clinics and tenant-occupied real estate. He is Chairman of the Global Health and Safety Team, creates and revises CAD drawings and serves as a project manager. He holds a BS degree in Facilities Planning and Management, and an Associate degree in Architectural Engineering from Wentworth Institute of Technology. Michael is single and resides in South Dartmouth, MA. He enjoys music, travel, cars and sports.

| Martin Bennett, Software Support Representative
Martin supports Smart2k in remote sites. He also does testing, updates and installation of software and is currently working on a SMART data base. Martin is originally from the UK where he was with a telecommunications company. He is currently enrolled in a Bachelor Degree program in Information Science. He is married with two children. He writes fiction and is an avid supporter of Arsenal (English soccer) and Surrey cricket team. Martin resides in Cranston, RI, where he enjoys gadgets like his HP Pocket PC and his AT&T Tilt.

| Mason Snyder, Network Administrator
Mason is responsible for maintaining all communications related equipment within Smart Management and the Discovery House clinics. He previously worked with Cox Communications, One Beacon Insurance and is a former United States Marine. Mason, who lives in Pawtucket, RI, with his wife and two children, is Microsoft Certified. He enjoys spending his free time with his children, keeping up on new technology, as well as movies, music and games.

Smart Management and Discovery House networks are maintained by Christopher Curran. Chris has a BS in Computer Science from Rhode Island College. He has a daughter with whom he enjoys spending time, as well as working in his home and doing landscaping projects.

A married mom with three adult children, Adrienne ensures the timely payment of all Smart Management and Discovery House bills. She resides in Providence, RI, where she enjoys gardening, cooking and traveling.

| Joseph A. Renzi, Jr., Director of Facilities and Communications
One of the first members of the Smart team, Joe has been with Smart for twelve years. He is responsible for all commercial and residential properties, security, safety, construction and remodeling, as well as overseeing communication, computer, telephone and the Network Department. Joe is a licensed voice, data, video contractor in Novell CAN, CNE. He has received certification of Storage Expertise from the Roger Williams University Gabelli School of Business. Joe is married and resides in Cranston, RI. He enjoys spending time with his grandchildren, as well as gardening and video games.

Lynn serves as a member of the 3rd Party Billing Team. She has more than 16 years experience in healthcare billing and administrative functions. Lynn is single and resides in Cranston, RI. She enjoys spending time with her nieces and nephews and has an interest in Astrology.

| Cheryl Ann Smith, Operations and Compliance
Cheryl supports overall day-to-day operations and compliance of the Discovery House clinics managed by Smart. She also coordinates projects between the Home Office and Discovery House and serves as a System Administrator for Discovery House and co-chair of the software team.
A resident of Norton, MA, Cheryl has two daughters and enjoys skiing and hiking.

| Lori Vincent, Provider Relations Representative
Lori works with 3rd Party Billing for five Discovery House clinics. She is married and resides with her family in West Warwick, RI. Community minded, she was one of the top fundraisers at the SMART Bowl-A-Thon in 2007. Her special interests are reading, skiing and attending the movies.

| Tina Handren, Payroll and Benefits Coordinator
Prior to joining Smart, Tina worked in both the banking and the entertainment industries. She earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in English from Salve Regina University with a minor in Philosophy. Tina is a member of the Community Awareness Team and Associate Recognition Team. She enjoys reading, writing, gaming and collecting classic literature. Tina resides in Warwick, RI with her husband Scott and their Pug Isabel.

Daniel graduated from the University of Pittsburgh with a BA in Business and Economics. He is the proud father of one daughter. He resides in Warwick, RI and enjoys skiing and fly-fishing.

Peter Kuylen, Director of Human Resources
Peter is responsible for payroll, benefits, compensation, employee relations, recruiting and associates development. He holds a Bachelor of Science Degree from Roger Williams University. Prior to coming to Smart, Peter served in the banking industry. He is a member of the Society for Human Resource Management, the Human Resource Management Association or Rhode Island, and Beta Gamma Sigma. Peter is single and resides in Richmond, RI. His interests include motorcycling, travel and NASCAR.

Joseph Lapenta, Performance Improvement Director
With extensive experience in quality improvement, Joe directs the curriculum to meet goals and facilitates Leadership University. He attended Boston College and the University of Hartford, where he earned his Master’s Degree in Clinical Psychology. He is a licensed Mental Health Counselor and continues to work as a mental health therapist in Providence. For thirteen years working for the State of Rhode Island, his service resolved around continuous quality improvement for a large state department. Joe is single, has one son, and resides in West Warwick. His favorite pastime is golf.

Debra Rose, Provider Relations Representative
In addition to serving as Provider Relations Representative, Debra handles 3rd party billing for five Discovery House clinics. She has a Legal Secretarial Science Associates Degree and is certified as a Medical Billing/Coding Specialist. Married, she and her husband reside in Cranston, RI and have one son. Debra is also a member of the Smart Management Community Awareness Team.

Lori C. Tedeschi, Staff Accountant
Lori’s responsibilities include maintenance of the general ledger, preparation of various accounting statements and financial reports, as well as maintenance of all insurance policies. Lori holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting from Providence College. She resides in East Greenwich, RI, with her two daughters. Lori enjoys traveling, tennis and spending time with family and friends.

Sandy ensures timely payment of company invoices, records payroll into the general ledger and review records for accuracy. She also records and reviews insurance payments.
